I acknowledge that BBST requires that I work a minimum number of service hours (determined at the beginning of each season) or I may buy out my service hours for a fee determined by the BBST board.

Registration WILL NOT BE COMPLETE and your child WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE WATER until your Service Hour Deposit ($500) or Buyout payment ($500) has been received by the treasurer. They service hour deposit will be done online.

Before agreeing to the service hour buyout, we would like to remind you that BBST is 100% volunteer run, and we understand that there are circumstances that warrant buying out your service hours - but we would rather have your help as a volunteer than your money!

I hereby release Bear Branch Swim Team to use pictures of this athlete, family members, and/or guardians taken at NWAL sponsored or Bear Branch Swim Team sponsored events.  These photos will be posted on the "Members Only" secure website.

I understand that in the event that I need to withdraw my swimmer from BBST, I must contact a board member in writing.  Upon board consideration and approval, a full refund of registration fees will be given until May 2rd. If I withdraw between May 3th and May 16th, 1/2 of registration fees will be considered for a refund. If I withdraw on or after May 17th, registration fees are forfeited. 

The Northwest Aquatic League is organized to foster competitive swimming and good sportsmanship in the youth of the area. The following constitue the policies of Northwest Aquatic League with regard to awareness and preventions of abuse within our organization. NWAL is committed to ensuring the safety of the children who participate in this program and to provide a safe environment and to prevent child abuse and sexual misconduct. NWAL will make every reasonable effort to ensure that every person involved in coaching/training a sport activity in our organization will abide by the SafeKids guidelines. NWAL will make every reasonable effort to exclude any coach/trainer with a legally documented history of child abuse/molestation or any other record that would bring unnecessary risk to the health and safety of the participants of this organization. Therefore, every person applying for a position as a coach/trainer (whether paid or volunteer) must complete a Coach/Trainer Disclosure Statement. The team representative will provide the Coach/Trainer Disclosure Statement Form to coach/trainer applicants. These statements must be completed and returned to the NWAL League Manager prior to the new Coach/Trainer beginning their work with the children in any team training/practice, meet or other team activities. NWAL will take appropriated action on any allegations of child abuse and/or sexual misconduct. All allegations will be reported immediately to the authorities for investigation and NWAL will cooperate fully with any such investigation. The following represents the preventative measures of Northwest Aquatic League with regard to abuse: Physical, mental, and verbal abuses of any of the participants, coaches, managers, employees, volunteers involved in our sponsored activities is not permitted. Inappropriate touching of any kind is forbidden We agree to provide more than one adult working at or overseeing every activity. If a child needs special attention (one-on-one training or an individual meeting), it will be handled with the assistance or presence of another adult. Coaches/trainers should not socialize with the participants outside of the sponsored activities of the organization. Coaches/trainers should not ride alone with a child or participant in the car. Procedures will be established for coaches to follow in the event a participant is stranded at an activity. Parents are encouraged to attend sponsored activities.

BEAR BRANCH SWIM TEAM WAIVER AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT Acceptance of my entry and participation in the events of the Bear Branch Swim Team is without responsiblity of any kind by the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL) or the Bear Branch Swim Team, its officers, directors, representatives, coaches and volunteers, or the Bear Branch Homeowners Association, all of the residents, or any other entity sponsoring a related event. I do hereby for and on behalf of myself, and my heirs and legal representatives RELEASE and forever discharge the NWAL, its officers, directors, representatives , coaches and volunteers, the Bear Branch Homeowners Association, and all of the residents from any and all claims, demands, and injuries, howsoever arising, whether caused by the negligent or intentional acts of the NWAL or any of its swim clubs and their representatives, representative of other sponsoring clubs, or by third parties, INCLUDING THE SOLE NEGLIGENCE OF THE ABOVE, which injuries may be in any way related to my activities as a member of the Bear Branch Swim Team and any prior traveling to or from the events described, and all such claims are hereby WAIVED and RELEASED, and I agree not to sue therefore. The parent and guardian, by signing below, does hereby agree to INDEMNIFY and hold harmless the NWAL and its officers, directors, coaches, representatives, volunteers, the sponsoring swim club, and the Bear Branch Homeowners Association, and all of their residents from any liability which may incur to the participant however arising and whether caused by the negligent or intentional acts of NWAL, its officers, directors, coaches, representatives, volunteers, the Bear Branch Swim Team, or the Bear Branch Homeowners Association, and all of the residents. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability. I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a race or his/her performance. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also de-emphasize meets and competition in the lower age groups. I will promote the emotional and physical well being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win. I will respect the officials and their authority during meets and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches or officials at the meets, and will take time to speak with them at an agreed upon time and place. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during meets and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team. Children’s sports are supposed to be fun-for the children. Unfortunately, many parent, fans and coaches don’t realize that their actions, whether
verbal or nonverbal, can have a lasting emotional effect on children. Too many children are leaving sports activities because the fun is unfairly
taken away by adults. This following Code of Conduct is for parents and spectators to abide by at every practice, meet and invitational.

Preamble

The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles:
trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, and caring and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition

Meet forfeit through the official or coach

Parental season suspension.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

The Northwest Aquatics League (NWAL) and (your team's name here) cannot prevent you (or your child(ren)) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in NWAL sanctioned events. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate in an NWAL sanctioned event, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

BY ATTENDING OR PARTICIPATING IN ANY NWAL SANCTIONED EVENT, YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH EXPOSURE TO COVID-19 AND FOREVER RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS NWAL AND (your team's name here) AND THE POOL FACILITY OWNERS AND EACH OF THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVES FROM ANY LIABILITY OR CLAIMS INCLUDING FOR PERSONAL INJURIES, DEATH, DISEASE OR PROPERTY LOSSES, OR ANY OTHER LOSS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE AND GIVE UP ANY CLAIMS YOU MAY HAVE TO SEEK DAMAGES, WHETHER KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, FORESEEN OR UNFORESEEN, IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
